A pod of pixel whales
on the open sonar.

Every whale in the collection is one blip on this screen. Dark water is a whale still down there; a lit contact is one that has surfaced. The sweep re-reads the count on every pass, so the mint comes in live — and you can click any contact to read it.

Rarity

Five tiers. Whale plus gear.

Every whale carries a Tier: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Ultra Rare or Legendary. The tier comes from two things: which whale it is (Minnow, Dolphin, Orca, Blue Whale, Golden Whale, in that order) and the chase gear it wears (Crown, Top Hat, Horns, Ring Light, Laser Eyes, Diamond Eyes, Gold Tooth, Diamond Grill, Gold Chain, Champagne, Harpoon, Hardware Wallet, Trident, Suit, Robe). A Golden Whale in a crown is Ultra Rare. A Minnow with nothing on is Common.

The five whales

You can tell them apart from across the room.

Traits

Every trait, real counts.

Counted from the 5,555 as generated. Tier is the skin plus the chase gear it wears: Common 3,100 · Uncommon 1,283 · Rare 713 · Ultra Rare 448 · Legendary 11.

Outside the tiers

Eleven legendaries.

Ten whales are not tiered at all. They are named — after the sea myths that got here first — and they are never numbered and never ranked against one another. Each exists once.

Mechanics

How it works.

01 — FREE

One free, per wallet.

Connect and the panel pings your address. If the free hatch is open to you it is exactly one whale, authorised by a signed pass and minted through mintFree. The contract enforces the one-per-wallet cap itself — this site could not hand out a second if it tried.

02 — PAID

Then up to five paid.

Paid is open to everyone: the on-chain price each, up to five per wallet, paid exactly — mintPaid reverts on the wrong amount rather than keeping the difference. Every call is simulated against the contract before your wallet is ever asked to sign.

03 — AFTER

Royalties 10%.

Secondary royalties are 10%, published on chain through ERC-2981, so a marketplace reads the same number you do. Token ids run sequentially from 1: a whale's id is also its place in the order it surfaced.
